Trump Confirms G7 Summit Attendance
"I'll be going to the G7, in France, immediately following what will be one of the Most Entertaining Nights in American History, the UFC World Championship Fights on the South Lawn of the White House," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
The annual summit is scheduled to take place from June 15–17 in Evian-les-Bains, a resort town in southeastern France.
The G7 unites seven of the world's most economically powerful nations — Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK, and the US — with the European Union also holding membership. The forum serves as the premier multilateral platform for coordinating responses to pressing global economic, financial, and geopolitical challenges, with this year's gathering expected to address a crowded and turbulent international agenda.
Trump's confirmation ends any speculation over whether the US president would attend, following a period of diplomatic friction between Washington and several G7 partners over trade and security policy.
