Hezbollah Drone Threat Restricts Majority of Israeli Operations in Lebanon

(MENAFN) Drones operated by Hezbollah are reportedly constraining a large share of Israeli military activity in southern Lebanon, with Israel’s public broadcaster stating that operational freedom has been significantly reduced, according to reports.

The broadcaster cited Israeli military assessments suggesting that explosive-equipped drones have not only restricted movement but also contributed to troop casualties, further limiting the scope of operations in the area.

It was also reported that a growing number of military activities are now avoided during daylight hours due to concerns over potential drone strikes.

The broadcaster added that equipment designed to counter drones is being distributed sparingly, with shortages limiting availability to only select soldiers within each military unit.

The report further referenced Israeli military intelligence sources who said Hezbollah has recently moved away from a centralized command structure toward more decentralized guerrilla-style tactics.

According to those sources, the group is now operating in smaller, more mobile cells that conduct quick strikes while moving between villages in southern Lebanon.
