Euro Area Sees 0.4 Percent Increase in Industrial Output

(MENAFN) Seasonally adjusted industrial production across the euro area and the broader EU each edged up 0.4% in February compared to the prior month, official figures showed Wednesday.

However, the annual picture remained subdued. Eurostat reported that output fell 0.6% in the euro area and 0.1% across the EU in February when measured against the same period a year earlier.

Among member states, Ireland posted the sharpest monthly gain at 5.7%, with Finland and Sweden close behind at 3.3% and 3.2%, respectively.

At the other end of the spectrum, Malta recorded the steepest decline at 6.0%, followed by Luxembourg at 4.6% and Greece at 2.1%.
